Description
SOUTH ORSMBY CUM KETSBY KETSBY TF 37 NE 1/23 Ketsby Water Mill G.V. II Water mill. 1864. Yellow brick, slate roof with overhanging verge and narrow bargeboard. Single storey, 2 bay front with pair of sliding glazing bar sashes to each floor. Between the upper pair a cast iron plate with raised half moon, and the initials TYD and date 1864. In the left hand gable a pair of planked doors and a sliding sash above. All openings have brick segmental heads. To the right hand side a cast iron breastshot water wheel over the mill race. Interior: Original floors and planked partition. To first floor the 2 grinding stones and hoppers are intact, with gearing and shafts linked to the water wheel.
