Description
EAST KEAL SCHOOL LANE TF 36 SE (east side) 5/13 Glengarry Cottage II Formerly 3 cottages, now single cottage. C17, altered 1725, C19 and C20. Mud and stud, partly underbuilt in brick, 1725 colourwashed brick extension, with dentillated eaves and brick coped tumbled gables. C19 diagonally set pair of brick stacks, and brick gable stack. Lobby entry plan. 2 storey, irregular 4 bay front with off-centre C19 door with 3 pointed Gothick panels, to left a small glazing bar sash, to right 2 glazing bar casements, all under segmental arches. Between the casement windows is a small plaster panel bearing the scratch date of 1725. Above the door a small 2 light horizontal sliding glazing bar sash. To the rear a lean-to outshot. Interior retains wall post and curved braced tie. Some larch poles remain in the refurbished roof. When used as 3 cottages each had a trap door with ladder access to single upper rooms, one of which survives. Listing NGR: TF3808763644
