Description
ROUGHTON MARTIN TF 26 NW 7/39 Stable block at Martin Hall G.V. II Stable block. Late C18 extended early C19 and altered C20. Brick. Slate roof monopitch. Single storey, 7 bays, the central bay advanced, containing a large basket shaped arch with double planked doors under a semi-circular blank arch. To either side are a single semi-circular headed opening with beyond a later pair of narrower openings with a circular light centrally placed above them. On the left one opening is blank with a fanlight over, the other 2 contain stable doors with later fanlights. On the right is a C20 sliding garage door with beyond 2 blank doorways. All arches have key and impost blocks. The stable block is attached to the house by a curving coped brick wall containing a planked door with fanlight, a flat arched window and a second fixed light with fanlight.
