Description
SK 94 NW HOUGH-ON-THE-HILL FRIESTON ROAD (south side) Brownlow Arms 3/108 Public House G.V. II Public house. 1852. Coursed ironstone rubble, limestone and ironstone ashlar dressings, plaintiled roofs with coped gables with finials with single central ridge stack with coping. To the east a lower 2 storey range with irregular fenestration and plinth and quoins, with doorway with four centred arch, rectangular head and plank door to west. Single splayed 3 light bay window on high plinth to east. Above are 2 narrow fixed light and casement windows. To west 2 storey 3 bay range with high plinth, first floor moulded cornice and eaves cornice and quoins. 2 lower 3 light mullion windows flank single fixed light. Above are 3 cross mullion windows.
