STOKE ROCHFORD STOKE ROCHFORD PARK SK 92 NW 6/172 3 gatepiers, wall and lodge, south east entrance, 550 M south-south east of Stoke Rochford Hall 14.7.1978 II 3 gatepiers, wall, railings and lodge. 1834. By Cornelius Sherbourne for Sir Christopher Turnor. Ashlar with slate roofs having raised coped gables and kneelers, single gable and wall stacks with ashlar shafts and cornice. Cross-plan. Single storey with attics, 3 bay front. Central half glazed door, flanked by 2 light mullioned windows. Above the door a gabled parvise is supported on Tuscan columns beneath a C20 2 light window is a rectangular sunk panel bearing the date 1834 and the initials CT for Christopher Turnor, above is a pinnacled gable. On the entrance side is a triple window with shield of arms over. 3 gate piers are square with moulded cornices surmounted by ball finials. The gate pier nearest to the lodge is linked to it by wrought iron railings with curling pointed terminals. Squared limestone rubble flanking walls, attached to gate piers and lodge, with gabled stone coping, terminating in square ashlar piers with plinths and coping. Listing NGR: SK9204727479
