Description

TOYNTON ALL SAINTS SPILSBY ROAD TF 36 SE (north side) 5/82 Toynton Lodge, gate and railings 3.2.67 II Former lodge to Toynton Hall, now house, gate and railings. Early C19, altered early C20. Red brick with yellow brick dressings, hipped Westmorland slate roof with lead dressings, 2 brick wall stacks. Cast iron gate and railings. 2 storey, 3 bay front, the flanking bays slightly advanced, originally with single storey curved flanking bays, the left hand one of which has been raised and altered early C20. Central rectangular porch has paired fluted Doric columns supporting a cornice with paterae, containing 6 panel door with traceried overlight. Above is a pierced cast iron balcony. To either side are single glazing bar sashes. To first floor are 3 similar windows, all with splayed yellow brick lintels. To left the altered bay has single semi-circular fixed lights to each floor. To right the single storey bay has a similar window and an ashlar coped parapet. In front is a low brick wall with cast iron vertical railings, spear head terminals and matching pedestrian gates. Interior retains staircase with delicate turned balusters and mahogany handrail. Fine plaster ceilings with corner fans, scrolls and leaves. Lions head cornice, and lions heads to door and window architraves. 6 panel doors throughout. Listing NGR: TF3904664511
