Description
BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9237 LOW ROAD, Manthorpe 1315-0/11/128 (South East side) Nos.25 AND 26 Manthorpe Post Office (No.26) GV II Pair of estate cottages, now houses. c1840, with late C20 alterations and additions. Coursed squared ironstone, with brick dressings and hipped pantile roofs. Coped dentillated central brick stack with 3 square flues. 2 storeys; 2 window range of C20 2-light casements with brick segmental heads. The ground floor windows are larger. Beyond, on either side, a lean-to porch with concrete tile roof and a pointed arched door. The right door is altered to form a window with a wall door. The right door is altered to form on window with estate by postbox beside it. An estate cottage provided for workers on the Belton estate by the Brownlow family of Belton House.
