Description
BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9237 HIGH ROAD, Manthorpe 1315-0/11/126 (East side (off)) Manor Farmhouse II Estate farmhouse, now a house. Dated 1864, but possibly a remodelling of an earlier building. Mid and late C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and steep pitched concrete tile roofs. 2 rectangular stone valley stacks with chamfered copings, and a similar square ridge stack. Tudor Revival style. Plinth, quoins, coped gables. 2 storeys; 2 bays. Windows are mainly late C20 plastic framed casements with chamfered stone surrounds. Irregular cruciform plan. Front has to left a gabled wing with a 2-light window and above it, a slit breather. Below, 2 single light windows. To right, a gabled porch with round-arched opening covering a C19 half-glazed door, and above it a datestone with the Brownlow monogram. To right, a single light window. Right return has 2 gabled wings, the right one set back, with a 3-light stone mullioned window above, and 2 single light windows below: Left wing has a mid C20 wooden cross casement and below, a C19 canted stone bay window, 2 lights, with hipped plain tile roof.
