LINCOLN SK9771SW HIGH STREET 1941-1/11/151 (West side) 08/07/91 No.202 Lloyd's Bank GV II Bank. c1900. By William Mortimer & Son for the Capital & Counties Bank. Ashlar with lead roofs. Baroque Revival style. EXTERIOR: rusticated ground floor and quoins, modillion eaves and cornice, blind balustraded parapet. Windows are mainly plain casements, those to the first floor with cornices. 3 storeys plus attics; 3 x 5 bays. Rounded north-east corner has a moulded doorcase with hood and crest, and above it, a single window on each floor. Square corner tower has cornice and balustrade, and a round headed window with an Ionic surround. High street front has 3 round headed windows with keystones and above, 3 windows on each floor. Attic has 2 windows with modillion hoods carried on single shafts. Below each of them, a crest on brackets. North front has 4 round headed windows, and a door to their right. Above, 3 windows flanked by single round headed recesses, containing single windows in Ionic surrounds with pediments. Above again, 3 windows. Attic has 3 dormers with gabled and segmental pediments, flanked by single pedimented gables, each with an oval window with keystone. INTERIOR not inspected.
