TF 2569 HORNCASTLE off MANOR HOUSE STREET (north side) 6/52 Roman wall to rear 7.12.66 of the Manor House G.V. I Part of north-west corner of curtilage of Roman castrum. Late C3-mid C4. Spilsby sandstone ashlar and some rubble. Section of wall approximately 1.5 metres high and 3 metres long running east to west, curving towards the south at the west end. The whole with original ashlar facing, rubble core exposed to west. C18 red brick well immediately to the south of the wall. Source: Field and Hurst , pp.49-50, 54-55.
