TF 2569 HORNCASTLE CHURCH WALK (south side) 6/34 Roman Wall (formerly listed 7.12.66 under St. Mary's Square) G.V. I Section of south curtilage wall and south-west bastion of Roman settlement. Late C3-mid C4. Spilsby sandstone rubble. Section of rubble core of wall running westwards up to 2.83 metres high and 12.25 metres long. Another section beyond 2.20 metres high and 13.20 metres long. Section of rubble core of south-west bastion to west, up to 2.20 metres high and 4.60 metres long. Source: Field and Hurst, pp.49-50, p.85. Scheduled as an Ancient Monument, No. 44.
