Description

TF 03 NW NEWTON AND HACEBY HACEBY 6/48 Barn, stable and crew yards at Moat Farm. G.V. II Barn, stable and crew yards. Late C18 and early C19, altered and extended later C19. Coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and pantiled roofs. Double square plan. The left hand range has a 2 storey stable block with granary over, and a range of beasthouses and an open sided hovel to the crew yard. The stable has a 2 storey irregular 3 bay front having 2 planked doors to the ground floor, both with timber lintels, 2 rectangular breathers and a planked door, a pivoting light and a blocked opening to the eaves. The stable has a clasped purlin softwood roof. The beasthouse range has 4 planked doors beneath timber lintels, and the hovel has timber bay posts. To right is a pent roofed and brick single bay extension with one blocked opening. Between the two yards is a further range of open sided hovels with timber posts and attached to this is a late C18 barn of 2 storeys and 2 bays with large planked doors beneath a segmental brick archway to left and an opening to the right at first floor level to the eaves.
