Description
TF 34 NW FISHTOFT RAWSON'S LANE (north side) 7/29 Skirbeck House 26.1.67 G.V. II House. Early C18, refronted and raised c.1800 with c.1840 addition and alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond with painted ashiar dressings, hipped slate roof with red brick wall stacks. L-plan. 3 storey, 7 bay front arranged 2:5, with second floor cill band and deeply overhanging eaves. Off-centre 6 panel door with fan traceried overlight, having panelled reveals, set in ornate doorcase with shafted and collared pilasters, supporting pediment with Gothick lozenge tracery and palmette decoration. To right a single and to left 2 canted margin light bay windows with flat lead tops. To first floor 7 glazing bar sashes with splayed rubbed brick arches and painted ashlar keystones. To second floor 7 smaller similar windows. To the rear is an earlier C18 wing with brick coped gables. Interior retains joinery of c.1800 character with arches and fluted keyblocks. Slender turned balusters to staircase with carved string and moulded handrail. Listing NGR: TF3283946482
