Description
TF 23 NE WIGTOFT ASPERTON ROAD (west side) 8/88 Easthorpe Court G.V. II Farmhouse. C18, refronted and largely rebuilt 1804 with minor C20 alterations. Rendered brick, Welsh slate roof with stone coped gables and 2 rendered gable stacks. L-plan. 2 storey, 3 bay front, with first floor band and moulded wooden cornice to parapet. Centre bay canted and advanced. Central C20 door with traceried overlight flanked by single fixed glazing bar lights with pointed Gothick heads. Beyond to either side are single canted bay windows with moulded cornices, each containing 3 glazing bar sashes. To first floor the central canted bay is supported on slender cast iron columns, it has a moulded cornice and single glazing bar sash, and is flanked by single similar windows. In the right hand side a Gothick glazing bar sash with segmental head and keystone. White's Directory of 1856 records that Easthorpe Court, the ancient seat of the Howson family was rebuilt as a farmhouse in 1804. Listing NGR: TF2663736754
