Opening sentence of description 'Coaching Inn, now Public House' amended to 'Former coaching Inn'. FOLKINGHAM THE MARKET PLACE (west side) The Whipping Post Public House TF 0633-0733 2/67 G.V. II Coaching Inn, now public house. Late C18, C20. Red brick, rendered ground floor, some limestone rubble and ashlar. Pantile mansard roof with stone coped gables. 2 storeys and attic, 6 bay front with rubble plinth. Steps lead up to doorway on right with plain doorcase, raised keystone and partially glazed door. 3 light sliding sash to right. 3 light sliding sash to left. 2 light sliding sash to left with 3 light sliding sash beyond. All the windows with raised ashlar keystones. 3 light sliding sash above to right with 2 two light dummy windows to left. 3 light sliding sash to left and 2 light dummy window beyond. 3 light sliding sash to left. All the windows with brick wedge lintels and raised ashlar keystones. 3 flat headed dormers with 2 light sliding sashes. Single storey extension to north of 3 bays with doorway to left with panel door under same wooden lintel as a 2 light casement immediately to left. Large fixed window with glazing bars to right and 2 light C20 cross mullion casement set in blocked doorway, beyond, all the windows with brick wedge lintels with raised ashlar keystones. 3 light sliding sash above to left.
