Description

TF 1409-1509 DEEPING ST. JAMES BRIDGE STREET (north side) 14/65 Nos. 4 and 6 and barn attached to 30.10.68 No. 6 G.V. II Pair of houses and barn. Late C17, altered and extended C18 and C19. Originally timber frame, now squared limestone rubble, ashlar quoins, left hand 3 bays are thatched with raised stone coped gables, concrete tiles to right, single, gable and 2 ridge red brick stacks, and C20 wall stack. 2 storey, the left hand 3 bays are the earlier C17 L-plan house, and comprise central half glazed door flanked by single glazing bar sashes under wooden lintels. Above are 2 further glazing bar sashes. In the gable is a rectangular stone sundial. To the right, the attached range of 6 bays has broad double planked full height doors, with to left a 2 light casement and a fixed light. To right are 2 further casements and a 3 light C20 casement with half glazed C20 door, to left of which is a small blocked opening. To the first floor are 2 two light windows and 2 of 3 lights. All windows have glazing bars and timber lintels. Listing NGR: TF1506209532
