Description
TF 03 NW NEWTON AND HACEBY DEMBLEBY ROAD (east side) 6/43 Newton House 29,11.85 II House. c1840 with C20 alterations. Coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. Slate roofs with paired gable and ridge stacks in rubble with ashlar tops. 2 storey 6 bay south east front, the right hand end bay is advanced and gabled. Central canted 2 storey ashlar bay window with glazing bar sashes and hipped roof. To left a pair of glazed double doors and beyond a further 2 storey canted bay window. To right is a glazing bar sash, a plain sash and plain tripartite sash in the advanced bay. To the first floor are four glazing bar sashes and a tripartite window to the right. The south west entrance front has an off centre projecting single storey porch with Doric pilasters supporting an entablature. The doorway has a large overlight and four panel door. Above is a single glazing bar sash. The interior retains four panelled doors and four centred arched fireplaces in the Tudor style. Listing NGR: TF0469036394
