Description
TF 0638 - 0738 OSBOURNBY WEST STREET (north side) 11/76 No. 8 (Fern Farmhouse) 1.2.67 G.V. II House, gate and railings. Early C18, 1775, C19. Red brick in Flemish bond with ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins, pantile roof with raised stone coped gables and 2 brick gable stacks. Wrought iron. 2 storey plus garret, 3 bay front with first floor moulded stone band having central 6 panel door with plain overlight, flanked by single plain sashes. To first floor are 3 similar windows. All openings have splayed ashlar lintels with keyblocks. On a right hand quoin is the inscription 'Rob. Bradley, 1775'. To the left, at right angles, is a projecting steeply pitched earlier service bay containing in the gable a single plain sash with timber lintel. In front of the house is a low wrought iron screen of railings with spear head finials and a gate with curvilinear rails. Listing NGR: TF0669938067
