Description

TF 04 NW SOUTH RAUCEBY Off RAUCEBY DROVE (East Side) 2/100 Hall Farmhouse G.V. II Farmhouse. 1841. Probably by William Burn. Limestone ashlar, slate roofs with corbelled eaves, raised stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. 2 diamond set gable and a pair of ridge ashlar stacks with moulded cornices. L-plan. Single storey plus attics 2 bay entrance front having off centre planked door in a Tudor arched surround contained in a gabled porch. To left is a 2 light window. In the roof is a single gabled through eaves dormer with moulded corbels, blank shield to gable and ashlar cheeks. Windows are glazing bar casements with chamfered surrounds and mullions. In the projecting left hand wall is a further 2 light ground floor window and a through eaves dormer with a shield bearing the date 1841 to the gable. This is the home farm to South Rauceby Hall, built for A. Peacock Wilson. Listing NGR: TF0329145660
