Description
BRACEBRIDGE HEATH GRANTHAM ROAD SK 9667-9767 (east side) 8/8 Pump House to Bracebridge Heath Service Reservoir II Pump house. 1912. Designed by Niel McKechnie Barron, in the Baroque Revival style. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Roofs hidden behind high coped parapet. Moulded eaves band, plinth and flush ashlar quoins. South square tower with extended octagonal plan pump house behind, with smaller octagonal upper floor. Tower has doorway with flush ashlar surrounds and hood, above a circular window with ashlar surround and large double keystone under segmental hood, above again a tiny lancet. Tower topped by an octagonal leaded dome with finial. Either side are single circular openings with commemorative inscriptions. Side walls each have 2 glazing bar windows with ashlar surrounds and hoods. Listing NGR: SK9781067214
