Description
EWERBY AND EVEDON THORPE ROAD TF 14 NW (north side) 3/33 Elms Farm G.V. II Farmhouse. C16 rear wing, 1759 front, altered C19 and C20. Red brick in Flemish bond, coursed limestone to rear, pantiled roof with raised brick coped gables with ashlar kneelers, 2 gable stacks. 2 storey, 3 bay front plus garrets with first floor band and dentillated eaves course. Central C19 planked door with moulded muntins in an ogee headed Gothick surround. Flanked by single 3 light mullioned and transomed plain casement windows. To first floor are 3 two light matching windows. All windows have flat brick arched heads. Above the central upper window an ashlar datestone of 1759. The rear range is of rubble and retains a deeply chamfered C16 girder with ogee stops and a matching fireplace bressummer. Otherwise the interior has a good mid C18 turned baluster stair, some raised and fielded double panelled doors and a mid C19 cast iron fire surround to the left hand ground floor room.
