Description
WELBOURN HIGH STREET SK 95 SE (west side) 4/60 - Welbourn House and Greengates GV II House now 2 dwellings. Mid C18. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Pan- tile roof, with ashlar coped gables and 3 moulded ashlar gable stack. Deep chamfered plinth. Ashlar quoins. L-plan. 3-storey. East entrance front has off-centre doorway with partly glazed 6-panel door, with to the right 2 glazing bar sashes, and to the left 2 closely spaced cross casement windows. Above the doorway a single cross casement, to the right 2 glazing bar sashes and to the left a single cross casement. Above again, over the doorway a single cross casement, to the right 2 glazing bar sashes, and to the left 2 cross casements. All openings have ashlar wedge lintels with raised keystones The south front has an off-centre Cl9 half-glazed door with above a very tall narrow 6-pane stair window, to the right are 2 single cross casements one above the other. To the left is a single cross casement with a wooden lintel and beyond a 3-light cross casement, above a similar window, and above again a 3-light casement, these 3 windows and the stair window all have segment brick heads.
