Description
BLANKNEY MAIN STREET TF 0660 (east side) 7/11 Village Hall GV II Village Hall. c1835 by W A Nicholson. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Shallow pitched slate roof with a single octagonal Tudor style white brick stack, and ashlar coped gables with moulded kneelers. White brick plinth and flush ashlar quoins. Single storey. Gable end to street, with large round- headed doorway with plank door, and moulded ashlar surround with chamfered jambs. Side elevations have to each side two, 3-light--mullion windows, each light with a round-headed top and chamfered jambs. This building is part of the complete estate village erected for the Chaplin family of Blankey Hall. Listing NGR: TF0676860276
