Description
BLANKNEY MAIN STREET TF 05 NE (east side) 5/4 Lychgate to St Oswald's Church GV II Lychgate. 1883 by G F Bodley. Timber with a plain tile roof, with ornate curly boarge boards. 3 posts to either side resting on chamfered stone bases, with moulded 4 centred arched tie beams, that over the gate inscribed, 'ERECTED IN MEMORY OF FLORENCE CHAPLIN, 1883'. The tie beams are supported on carved brackets, with curved queen posts and a small collar above. The gates are pierced by keyhole shaped decorations. Listing NGR: TF0681859985
