Description
SCOPWICK CHURCH LANE: KIRKBY GREEN TF 05 NE (west side) 5/37 Kirkby Green Mill 5.2.82 - II Watermill. Early C18 an early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings. Pantile roof. Brick dentilated eaves and plinth. 2 ground floor doorways with wooden lintels and plank doors, above a single loft doorway also with a plank door under a brick segment head. To the north, an in-built single storey wheelhouse, with doorway and penstock both with segment brick heads. Pit wall and downstream wall of brick. Low breast-shot wheel and other corn grinding machinery. Basically complete with stone masonry furniture, now in a very decayed state. Reputed to have been last worked in 1935.
