Description
BINBROOK BRATS LANE TF 29 SW 2/4 Scallows Hall 9.3.67 G.V. II House. 1780 with alterations and additions of c.1820. Red brick, colourwashed with painted stucco dressings, hipped and stone coped gabled slate roofs with 2 external gable stacks. 2 storey, 3 bay centre block, slightly advanced before single storey 2 bay flanking wings. Off centre glazing bar double doors with to left 2 glazing bar sashes and to right 2 larger and 2 smaller similar windows. All ground floor windows have sills at ground level. To first floor are 3 glazing bar sashes. All windows have splayed stucco lintels with key blocks. In both gables are large semi-circular arched recesses. Interior retains panelled shutters and doors, and stair with plain balusters and wreathed handrail. Built by Lord Grimthorpe as a hunting lodge, the centre block in 1780 and the wings added 40 years later. Listing NGR: TF2459494686
