TF 1209-1309 MARKET DEEPING MARKET PLACE (south side) 13/175 The Deeping Stage (formerly listed as 30.10.68 the New Inn) G.V. II Hotel. 1802, with minor C20 alterations. Squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Collyweston slate roof with stone coped gables, 2 gable and single ridge stone stacks with cornices. Parallel range plan. 2 storey with attics, 4 bay front having first floor cill band, moulded cornice and plain parapet. Off-centre basket arch with imposts and stepped keyblocks, now having recessed C20 glazed screen. To left a single tripartite glazing bar sash, to right 2 similar windows. To first floor are 4 further similar windows, all having ashlar lintels and stepped keyblocks. At the centre of the parapet is a pedimented square panel inscribed JMA 1802. In the roof are 4 gabled dormers with dentillated cornices and rendered cheeks. Stick baluster stair to interior. Listing NGR: TF1392609917
