Abstract/Summary
Archive for a historic building survey undertaken prior to the conversion of the first floor of a former outbuilding at Rectory Farm, Sturton by Stow to a holiday let. The outbuilding forms the east end of a range of former agricultural buildings. The surveyed building is two storeys, constructed of red brick under a pitched gabled slate roof. The ground floor (not part of the survey area) consists of a washroom, a narrow passageway with stairs leading up to the first floor, a tack room with fireplace and chimney, and a large garage with double sliding doors in the south elevation. The first floor is diviided into two rooms and appears to have once been a hayloft, with a boarded up loading door in the south elevation. A large open-sided lean-to structure with a corrugated metal roof has been built into the north elevation.
