Full Description

A substantial, amorphous-shaped pit was recorded during an earthwork survey, undertaken in January 2014. The pit was 0.8m deep in places, and was thought to be the remains of a former quarry pit, now largely filled in. The pit cuts into earthwork remains of medieval ridge and furrow, suggesting a later post-medieval date, though the feature is not depicted on any of the Ordnance Survey map editions, suggesting it had been infilled by the time these maps were created. {1}{2}
