Full Description
Trial trenching was undertaken by Network Archaeology in May 2011 at Clay Lake, Spalding. Ditches, a post hole and linear features containing late Iron Age pottery, burnt bone, animal bone, briquetage, burnt stone and fuel ash slag was found. This evidence suggests that a late Iron Age settlement and saltmaking site was located in the immediate vicinity. {1}{2}
