Full Description

PRN 71064 Fragments of middle Anglo-Saxon pottery were found in Trench three during trial trenching in advance of the Lindongate Redevelopment Project, Lincoln. The pottery was found in various layers and in a sub rectangular pit identified as sunken-feature building. Post holes which were dendrochronologically dated as AD1130, may have originally been a wall or fenceline for the structure [PRN 71067]. These discoveries represent important evidence of late 7th to early 8th century settlement in Lincoln. {1}{2}
