A former school, now village hall dating from 1870. It was constructed of red brick with blue brick bands and ashlar and terracotta dressings and has a slate roof with raised stone coped gables and moulded kneelers and a single wall stack to rear. F. Hutton about the year 1869. Goddard of Lincoln was the architect. The school was enlarged with the addition of a classroom in about 1873 and was used as a temporary church while At Hilary's was being rebuilt in 1874-75. {2} White’s 1872 Trade Directory states that the school was erected in 1870 and was attended by 40 children of both sexes. {3} The school appears on the 1905 OS map in its current plan form. {4}
