Full Description
A former school, now village hall dating from 1870. It was constructed of red brick with blue brick bands and ashlar and terracotta dressings and has a slate roof with raised stone coped gables and moulded kneelers and a single wall stack to rear. The parish school was paid for by the Rector the Revd H. F. Hutton about the year 1869. Goddard of Lincoln was the architect. The school was enlarged with the addition of a classroom in about 1873 and was used as a temporary church while At Hilary's was being rebuilt in 1874-75. {2}
White’s 1872 Trade Directory states that the school was erected in 1870 and was attended by 40 children of both sexes. {3}
