Full Description

PRN 37839 [Note - where there is confusion or discrepancy between sources regarding the date of a building, the Royal Commission survey (which is the most detailed and recent) has been taken as the most reliable.] This building, which forms part of one building with no. 6 (PRN 37252), has a rear range of 17th century date which was probably timber framed originally. The main range was rebuilt in the mid 18th century. The shop front dates to the early 19th century which has a central doorway flanked by bow windows and the entrances to side passages, one of which is now blocked. One rear room contains a substantial decorated wooden bracket of early 18th century style. {1} This building dates to the late 17th century with an 18th century upper floor and fine late 18th century shop front [these dates are probably incorrect - see above]. It is two storeys in height with attics and is of a similar build to no. 6. It is rendered and has a slate roof. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
