Full Description

[Note - where there is confusion or discrepancy between sources regarding the date of a building, the Royal Commission survey (which is the most detailed and recent) has been taken as the most reliable.]
This house has a front dating to around 1800, however the thick rear wall with massive chimney stack suggests that the current building incorporates an earlier structure. The rear wing is of 17th or early 18th century date. The front includes timber-framed, shallow, full height bow windows. The present roof is unequally pitched - the street side was raised at the same time as the house was refronted but a single rafter from the earlier, steeper pitched roof remains. The interior includes timber-framed partitions of poor quality. {1}
This 18th century house [this date is probably incorrect - see above] is of two storey height and is constructed of ashlar with a slate roof. It has two full height bow windows. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
