Full Description

PRN 37620 This early 19th century red brick building was a silk throwsting house, and is of special historic interest as evidence of this industry in Stamford. It was recorded in 1816. It was altered in the late 19th century and a malting kiln was added at the south end. Internally, the cross beams of the upper floor are supported on circular cast iron columns. The floors are of plaster over wooden joists.
