Full Description

A mid to late 18th century building with later alterations. It is two storeys high and constructed of rendered brick with a slate hipped roof. The two bay front has two windows to the ground floor and two windows to the first floor. The ground floor consists of a 20th century shopfront with a central doorway with pilasters bounding the door and windows. The first floor Georgian sash windows hav plain sills and moulded keystones above. The building was originally a public house called 'The Three Crowns' which is recorded as being licensed in 1795 and which closed around 1960. In between the first floor windows there remains part of the support for the old pub sign. {1} After the closure of the public house the building appears to be have converted into flats. {2} The building is Grade II listed.
