Full Description

Farm buildings at Poplar Farm, Great Hale. The buildings include a covered cow yard, probably built in the 1870's. The roof trusses at this date were constructed of timber (Baltic fir) and are unusual in that they lack tie-beams.{1} Poplar Farm, Great Hale. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of U plan. The farmhouse is attached to a range of working buildings. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {2}
