Full Description

PRN 55262 A photographic building survey was undertaken on agricultural barns on East Lane, Corringham. The barns are predominantly single storey although a two storey building lies to the east. There appears to have been two phases of construction, with the earliest building constructed sometime in the mid 19th century. One building range is constructed in brick, while another is brick and stone. All buildings have clay pantile roofs. A few internal features remain, including a brick-built animal trough. The stone and brick built barn appears to have been used as a stable in recent times. At the time of the survey the barns were derelict and in poor condition.{1} Unnamed farmstead, Corringham. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Loose courtyard with L-plan range plus detached buildings to the third side of the yard. The farmhouse is attached to a range of working buildings. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. {2}
