63848 A Wesleyan Methodist chapel is indicated on the Ordnance Survey 1905 second edition County Series map. It still appears to be in use as a chapel to the present. {1} The site was visited in 2009. There had been a Methodist congregation in Digby since the early nineteenth century. The chapel was built in 1879 and closed in 2004. The chapel has been undergoing conversion to a house and is for sale in 2009. It has a broad front of three bays which are separated by stepped buttresses with stone cappings. The gabled porch which is approached by steps has the original door with decorative iron hinges. The pointed windows and doorway have ashlar arches. The window frames have been replaced. The door arch is inscribed 'Wesleyan Chapel 1879'. The eaves cornices have dentil and dogtooth brick. The gable elevations have pointed windows and the verges have the same decorative brickwork as the front elevation. The school room attached behind is of the same style.{2}{3}
