Full Description

Former tower mill, built in the early 19th century, and worked until the 1910s when it was abandoned. It had been reduced to a small thatched stump by 1935, and only the derelict wall of the lower storey remained intact by 1978. The last miller is thought to have been John Pocklington, who is believed to have taken the four sails that were originally on this mill to use with Heckington Mill when work here ceased (see MLI82961). {1}{2}{3} The remaining walls of this former mill are believed to have been consolidated in about 1999, with a new flat roof being added and the structure being converted to use as a garage. The mill is thought to have originally stood four storeys high when first built. {4}
