Full Description

35369 A conduit head is located on St Paul's Street. It was built in 1797, and consists of a wall with a rocky-rusticated face and two arched openings, with small recess between where water formerly issued. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} There was formerly a conduit in the middle of the street, fed by a piped supply from a spring at Conduit Head. In 1797 this was demolished and replaced with the current structure which originally had a storage tank (this has now been demolished). In 1847 iron pipes were laid from the spring. {3}
