A conduit head is located on St Paul's Street. It was built in 1797, and consists of a wall with a rocky-rusticated face and two arched openings, with small recess between where water formerly issued. There was formerly a conduit in the middle of the street, fed by a piped supply from a spring at Conduit Head. In 1797 this was demolished and replaced with the current structure which originally had a storage tank (this has now been demolished). In 1847 iron pipes were laid from the spring. {3}
