Full Description
PRN 35348
During a watching brief, several undated ditches and one pit were identified. The pit was thought to be a storage or refuse pit; two north-west/south-east aligned parallel ditches were thought to form part of an enclosure possibly related to an area of cropmarks immediately west of the site; the three remaining ditches were thought to be drainage ditches or land divisions.{1}{2}
Five north-south aligned ditches, a pit and a post hole were recorded during a watching brief at TF1413 1140. Although undated it is possible that they are associated with possible Romano-British cropmarks that have been identified in the area. {3}{4}
Two ditches on an east-west alignment were uncovered during trial trenching on land to the east of Northfields Industrial Estate (TF 14258 11532). No finds were recovered, therefore these features remain undated. Their function is also unknown. {5}{6}
