Full Description

This enclosure is situated on the lip of a valley of a tributary of the Waithe Beck. It is aligned on a north-west to south-east axis, and the long axis traverses the contours. It is rectangular, with markedly angular corners and formal entrances at the north and south ends. The two halves of the north side are out of alignment and splayed out slightly. The enclosure is interpreted as 'cursus-related'. {1}{2}{3}{4} This oblong enclosure, 96m long, is unusual for Lincolnshire and is more akin to a minor cursus. Similar, but longer, examples of this form of monument are found in other parts of the country. It has formal entrance gaps on its long axis. {5}
