Full Description

The Church of All Saints at Mareham on the Hill is a small church. It was heavily restored in 1804. A small hoard of late medieval coins were found concealed within a wall of the church, during repair works conducted in 1813 (see MLI42723). {1}{2} The exterior of the church is painted white and has an open wooden bell-turret at the west end. Excavations in 1985 revealed the medieval nave, which was broader than at present, and a south aisle. {3} A parish church dating from the 15th century which was restored in 1780 and remodelled in 1804 and the 20th century. It was constructed of green sandstone rubble blocks, limestone ashlar and some red brick and has a slate roof with bargeboards and a west rectangular bell turret.
