Full Description

St Michael's Church, Coningsby is Early English to Perpendicular in date. A late Norman (c.1100 to 1200) capital which is now used as a credence (a small table beside the altar) is all that remains of an earlier church. In c.1960 the church was in normal use. {1} A parish church which was constructed of limestone ashlar with squared and coursed limestone and greenstone rubble and slate and lead roofs. There is evidence of 13th, 14th and 15th century alterations and the chancel was rebuilt in 1870 by T. C. Hine.
