Full Description

Scatter of prehistoric flints, found to the north-east of Caythorpe Hall. The assemblage includes: A late Neolithic fabricator of honey-coloured flint (SK 9426 4935). A scatter of flintwork was found to the east of the house, including numerous Neolithic and early Bronze Age scrapers (SK 941 490). A very finely flaked Neolithic leaf-shaped lancehead, measuring 3" in length (SK 9412 4903). A small Neolithic leaf-shaped arrowhead (SK 9398 4903). A Neolithic petit-tranchet arrowhead (SK 9416 4877). A flint barbed and tanged arrowhead was found near the lodge gates (SK 9397 4858). A barbed and tanged arrowhead was found to the south of the kitchen garden (SK 9397 4882). {1}
