Full Description

A vase of supposed Roman date was found during works on the sea bank at Tydd Gate. It is thought to have been donated to Wisbech Museum, who reportedly had the item in their collection in 1883. No trace of the object could be found in 1972, when Wibech Museum was re-cataloguing its collection. The indicated findspot (TF 4506 1790) would give a location to the immediate south of the centre of Tydd Gote, and possibly over the border with Cambridgeshire. {1}{2}{3} Hallam was of the opinion that the vase was more likely to be medieval in date. {4}
