Bay Hall is a three-storeyed brick house of c.1730. The original building has a rectangular double-pile plan. The major alterations include the creation of a single-bay entrance hall in the original hall in the mid 18th century. In the 19th century the service wing was added on the north side of the house. {1} 'Its style is in the form of a town house.' {2} Tree-ring analysis was conducted of the timbers from the earliest phase of Bay Hall, at Hall Lane, Benington. The analysis indicated that the felling of these timbers took place no later than the summer of 1717. {3} Bay Hall, Benington. 18th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with L-plan range plus detached buildings to the fourth side of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. The farmhouse is the only surviving historic structure. Isolated location. {4}
