Full Description

A late 18th or early 19th century public house with later alterations. The public house would have originally been an inn for the lodging of travelers, as well as serving food and drink. The Barley Mow is recorded as an inn as early as 1807. The building is one storey high with a garret and a pitched pantil roof with ridge brick chimney stack and two gabled dormers and a dormer extension to the rear. The ground-floor front elevation, on Sea Lane, has a central doorway on the main range with two bay windows to the right and a modern casement window to the left, to the left of this window there is another doorway and to the left of that another modern casement window. The southern single storey extension also has a doorway in the front elevation. {1}{2}
