Full Description

Former school. One and a half storey brick building, under a pitched gabled slate roof. Two unusual gable stacks with their corners projecting at right angles from the gables. Dentil courses at eaves height and below the height of the windows. The building was substantially altered and extended in the 1970s to accommodate its current use as a village hall. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that St Luke's School at Holbeach Hurn was 'just erected'. {2} The building is shown as a single range with two cross-gables on the 1904 OS map. {3} The school closed in the late 1960s or early 1970s and was opened as a village hall in February 1975. {4}
